All women of the local congregation are members of Presbyterian Women in the Congregation.  The purpose of the group is to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible Study, to support the mission of the church worldwide, to work for justice and peace, and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church  (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promises of God’s kingdom.

Presbyterian Women of Hays First Presbyterian Church meet six times a year for fellowship, inspiration, advocacy, and to conduct business.  All women are welcome to attend any or all our meetings.  A group of Presbyterian Women meet the first Thursday of each month, September through May, for Bible Study.  We have used the Bible Studies provided by the PW magazine Horizons.  We’ve used video generated studies as well.  We have just begun a study entitled Uppity Women of the Bible; our first “uppity woman” is Esther.  The next five meetings will be based on the Book of Esther.

Each year the Presbyterian Women of Hays make a mission pledge which supports the mission of the Church Worldwide through the General Assembly Mission Budget.  Other mission projects to which we contribute include The Fellowship of the Least Coin, The Hunger Fund, The Thank Offering, and The Birthday Offering.
